Antônio Carlos Jobim (25th January 1927 – 8th December 1994), was a Brazilian composer, pianist, songwriter, arranger and singer. Considered one of the great exponents of Brazilian music, Jobim internationalized bossa nova and, with the help of important American artists, merged it with jazz in the 1960s to create a new sound with popular success. As such he is often referred to as the father of bossa nova.
In 1965 the Getz/Gilberto album was the first jazz album to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. It also won for Best Jazz Instrumental Album – Individual or Group and for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The album's single 'The Girl from Ipanema' won Record of the Year.
The original version of this edit, which is originally titled 'Insensatez', was taken from Jobim's first LP The Composer Of Desafinado Plays, released in 1963.
